The History About Becoming Successful Business Essay

There are scientific ways to help one succeed at their goals/career. The first step is to build a "personal development plan." This plan can be broken down into three distinct components. The first one "Plan" reports in advance the specific goal that is intended to be achieved and a specific list of actions or milestones that are needed to achieve that goal. Planning can be a difficult concept for some people to conceptualize, in part because they think that planning is a function that is performed by administrators or politicians, not the general public. This belief is a stumbling block these people and can lead them to be afraid to approach their own career goals and strategies or to think that merely stating the goal is all that is required in order to have it eventually come to fruition. Strategic plans are valuable for nearly every aspect of a person’s life, whether it is traveling, going on a date, achieving a professional goal, building a house, or healing the sick. Every goal is easier to accomplish with a solid plan. Obviously, the more complicated the goal the more important it is to build a coherent and actionable plan to achieve this goal. The fact makes planning one of the cornerstones, not just of personal success, but business success as well.

Second part "Development" it is the work that is done with the intention of improving upon, modifying, or managing growth to refine oneself or organization. Development in this context differs from the context of development that merely means event. Development is a progressive activity that can aid in the achievement of goals by either making those goals moot or by improving one’s ability to meet those goals. For example, gaining or improving upon a skill that when mastered allows one to attain the goal sought after. The process of creating a "development" plan requires that one evaluates themselves critically in order to rationally view their strengths and weakness. This self-knowledge confers the ability to predict the obstacles, both personal and professional that can adversely affect the goals that one wishes to accomplish.

The last portion is the "personal" section. This section is concerned with the "personal" which includes your tendencies and behaviors and qualities that are specific to you and not anyone else. For example, I have some good work experience back home in Saudi Arabia. I have worked in many different jobs before I had earned my diploma in accounting. I worked at a clinic for Public Relations for three years. After finishing school, I worked at the Red Crescent as a salary accountant where I learned how government institutions work. After working for one year at the Red Crescent, I received an opportunity to work at one of the biggest cement companies in Saudi Arabia called Ymamh Cement Company, which was a private company. I worked there also as a salary accountant, however, I found that there were significant differences between public and private salary accounting. At the same time I was working at the cement company, I was also working a part time job in real estate. This position afforded me the opportunity to build relationships with many of the people in the real estate sphere. It was through these experiences that I decided to continue my higher education in United State to learn more about the international business and to make a better life for my family.

The Keirsey Temperament Sorter (KTS) aids us in finding out what personal traits are inherent within us and which help or hinder our ability to be comfortable and productive within a given workplace. The most difficult part is to understand how these traits can be effectively put to use or modified so that they are no longer a hindrance. The results that I had from the KTS (ESTP) let me know more about myself and how I most like to interact with the world. The results were at first surprising and somewhat dismaying in that I did not see myself as the test described me. However, after sitting down and considering my employment history in this light I found that there was some merit to the results after all.

I am an extraverted person, exactly as the KTS predicts. In the workplace I have more energy and focus when working with other in groups setting or as a lead. The feeling of power and connection is deeply energizing. My approach to life is grounded in realistic perception of my environment. I have well-honed social skills but I am not very fond of social formalities as they tend to hamper communication. I am quick to adapt to new situations and ideas, never too attached to any one course of action by using the philosophy "If it works, use it." I like quick fixes and instantaneous gratification, when I can get it. I am frank and direct in the criticism of the things that I think are flawed and am open to receiving criticism, taking it as an opportunity to learn and grow. I have excellent ability to understand people's motivations and attitudes. I can identify and react to subtle signs difficult for many people such as facial cues, body language, and word choice. I am an exuberant consumer of life, occasionally to exuberant causing hurt feelings in others. This is not because I do not care about the feelings of people interested, but because the decision-making process of people does not take into account the emotional impact.

Full of vitality, and loved by everyone.

Trouble with grasping complicated scientific concepts

Easily bored

Focus on my strengths and give myself the opportunity to bring my natural abilities to bear. I must focus on working environments that aid and enhance my natural talents, and remember that what motivates me is interaction with the world, in the tasks requires me achievement, and when there is a challenge to get the job done. Facing weaknesses like when I accepted the points of my strength, and I understand that there are weaknesses in my character, and should work diligently to get rid of them. Sharing and discussing my ideas with others will help me develop and achieve my goals

I must respect my need for constant movement. I am by nature I'm not the type who likes to sit down to read a book, or watch a movie. I feel the need to be constantly in motion or to work constantly. It is important to realize that people differ in temperament and simple differences can create large problems.

I must risk the unknown and explore new experiences and try new things. Identify and express my feelings which might not be so easy but I should try to dive into the depths of myself. I must cultivate the awareness that even if I face a loss that I can learn from this and go on to even greater success. A failure is only an opportunity to become better, to learn, to grow. By approaching every experience with an open and optimistic air, I can glean more positive results.

Competing values

"Becoming a Master Manager" this is the question that we have to ask our self or asking myself, how I can be a manager?

There are many things and skills I have to meet to be a manager in the future by learning new skills that assist me or by improving existing skills and traits that I already possess. Management position can be difficult to navigate, socially. Some people respond to stronger role models better than other. Sometimes the emotional costs to subordinates needs to be taken into account and any resentment or ill-will must be appropriate dealt with. Further, it is important for any manager to understand that success and failure both are the results of the group and not the manager. Also important is controlling the information flow for employees. Some administrative perspectives can distract or demoralize non-management leading to a reduction of productivity or cooperation. Finally, as a manager I must be able to dispassionately decide that a particular employee is not a proper fit within the environment that they labor in and be able to terminate them. Successful management has patience and can grant amnesty where appropriate, leading by example is one of the strongest leadership styles. Management must always apply itself with the maximum amount of justice and equality. Understanding and utilizing the skills and talents of underlings is also a main skill that any potential manager must cultivate. Highlighting positive behaviors while not overemphasizing or ignoring negative behaviors, regardless of personal feelings, serves to treat employees with the honest and dignity that they deserve and builds trust and confidence in working relationships. A good manager understands that driving a bus or flying a plane is not the same thing as leading people. One must arm your employees with all of the tools that they could possibly need to be successful in achieving the goals of the group. Policy making should never take away the ability of underlings to be participatory in the governing of the working environment.

Leaders are people that do not falter easily and help to make vulnerable employees feel that the stability of the workplace has not changed, even in the face of devastating loss or change. They are not petty or capricious. They do not punish inconsistently nor reward without cause. They create and balance the relationships of their followers and do not discriminate based on tribal, sectarian, regional, nationalistic, or academic reasons. Instead, leaders will combine the forces of their followers and forge a stronger and more cohesive bond, even when there are conflicts and discord.

My strongest three competencies are:

Control: my highest score was on working and managing across functions at 92.8. I think because I like to identify good workers. The definition of employees and good work colleagues is that they are aware of their importance within the workgroup and how their work aids others and how they are aided by what the other workers are doing, and they are not disruptive to other workers. Also, I like to highlight the attention to the humanitarian aspects of personnel and transmit this behavior to them. I consider it important to inspect their conditions and the health conditions of their families. Problems in their homes and lives can profoundly affect their thinking and performance in the workplace. By monitoring their humanity I can better gauge how well they are functioning and how best to use them.

I am good at organizing the information flow so that everyone is kept aware of developments. The tasks and responsibilities which are assigned to each individual, and management, and the overall organizational division must be clear, and the quality of the authorities and its jurisdictions must be specific.

Planning and coordinating projects is, for me, the primary function of managerial functions and they are based upon other administrative functions. Achieving goals is a dynamic activity that requires an ongoing evaluation of the success or failure of the plan to successfully achieve the goal. This evaluation process looks at several key questions: What should we do? Who is doing it? And Where? And when? And how? By planning you will be able, to a large extent, as a manager identify the activities necessary to achieve organizational goals.

Measuring and monitoring performance and quality to maintain their efficiency and effectiveness for the employees. I like to follow every person who has been delegated, and give specific orders, whether written or oral.

Encouraging and enabling compliance the successful leader influential person radiates enthusiasm and encouragement. The question that a leader must always be concerned with is: how can I encourage others? The answer to that is that you should make employees aware of the benefits that accrue to them from achieving what requested them. One of the things that I liked to use for encouragement was bonuses. Also I liked to allow everyone to participate to avoid and minimize frustration and boredom.

Create: to be successful leader I have to provide the necessary power to the group, and build momentum continually. This requires that a leader is both charismatic and energetic. I usually make suggestions and put forward views that are new and which help to raise the morale of both management and labor. New and effective ideas help create recognition from superiors and grows value to the company. This cycle of reciprocation shows my commitment to the company and highlights the value that I add to workplace. By building up my superiors I can grow their professional success while simultaneously creating a space for me to move into. Good new ideas undoubtedly help to bring about changes in the mechanism of actions, and thereby raise the rates of performance for administrators - and the staff in general - and that is reflected directly to raise achievement levels for business and goals within the company. Applying new ideas that make the boring routine work more enjoyable makes everyone in the organization enjoy their jobs more, raises productivity, and lowers work related stress.

Compete: Competition is an important factor in every field to and allows competing agents to hone their skills faster and with more specificity creating more effective and skilled members within the organization. Competition can be developed through the construction of administrative incentives and or by including employees in the decision-making process in addition to decisions regarding work opportunities. I usually try to discover new ways which more effective than those used before to win. Now method authoritarianism in management cannot work because it is an old sterile style organization which fills the corridors of the workspace with suspicion and rivalry and therefore is ultimately creating a loss-making organization. Methods should be used as stimulators and bonuses because it is open competition between workers and through the spirit of competition builds loyalty to the organization rather than rivalry and domination and resistance.

My SMART Goal for the first year after I get my Master’s in Business Administration degree at Iona College, I will try to find a job here in USA in a growing company to get experience from them also to improve my business skills in a practical environment. The education that I have received here has shown me that there are many different approaches to management and on how to get work done. I want to transfer and share my experiences from Saudi Arabia here, and also transfer what I get from here over there. Also getting a job from here will give more chances to get better job in Saudi Arabia.

Then for the next 5 years I plan to go back to Saudi Arabia and work at Yamamh Cement Company, which was the last company that I worked at before coming here to the USA, but before I was a low level employee. My goal is that in five years I will have ascended through the ranks to displace my manager and take over his position.

After 10 years I will try to do make my own business there in Saudi Arabia, like doing a small Cement company. I want to be a leader and I chose cement because Building and Construction are one of the biggest businesses over there. Further, the need for cement is at a much higher demand than in the States because Saudi constructions uses significantly less wood. I will try to grow this company more and more to be one of the biggest cement companies not just in Saudi Arabia but in the Middle East. The name for this company it will be "Aziz Cement Company".
